When Mike walked off the stage at Western Carolina University with his degree in 1994, he didn’t waste a second driving toward success.

Fresh out of college and ready to make an impact, he took a sales job at Scott Clark Toyota, where he became the #1 salesperson.

His secret was simple—he genuinely cared about delivering the best possible service to every customer.

But as time passed, Mike felt the suit and tie wasn’t exactly what he had in mind for his future.

It felt like he was idling at the starting line, waiting for the actual race to begin.

Driven to build something of his own, he shifted gears and entered the world of entrepreneurship.

Mike hit the gas on his entrepreneurial journey and launched his first business, Innovations, a tint shop in Myrtle Beach, NC.

It thrived quickly, but feelings of nostalgia set in. Home was calling his name.

Guided by family values and hometown pride, Mike returned to Charlotte, NC, in 1997 and launched The Tint Man, a mobile tinting service.

In just two years, The Tint Man became the go-to tint provider for stereo and car accessory shops across the Carolinas.

Riding this wave of momentum, Mike started his third business, Lightning Mike’s, an aftermarket automotive store offering numerous products and services.

Mike expanded this new venture rapidly to six locations and cornered the Charlotte market.

Yet despite this incredible success, he felt the need to fine-tune his approach.

Mike realized it’s better to do one thing exceptionally well than be average at a bunch of different things.

So, he fine-tuned his growth strategy and founded Sun Stoppers, a boutique operation laser-focused on premium automotive film products.

Mike poured his heart into creating an unrivaled customer experience and revolutionizing the automotive film industry.

Over the next two decades, he transformed Sun Stoppers into a national powerhouse with 70 locations across the US.

In recent years, Mike took it a step further, with Sun Stoppers now offering franchise opportunities and training programs to help others succeed.

With a solid foundation nationwide, he looked for creative ways to push the boundaries of what’s possible in his industry.
